Many opportunities exist to assist KMB better serve our community.
At various times different items are needed, but the most precious commodity needed is your time. Keep an eye on our event calendar for your chance to make a difference or attend one of our monthly meetings.

Being "green" starts with leaving as small a footprint as possible on our environment. Please pitch in by taking advantage of the recycling center at the City Yard on 9th St. J

KMB Event Calendar

SPRING CLEANUP- Saturday April 14th. Meet at KMB Haus at 9am for pictures, supplies, and assignments. Lunch furnished by Muenster State Bank.
Monday May 14th @ 6:45pm at KMB Haus in City Park- monthly meeting (public encouraged to participate)

Keep Muenster Beautiful Claims 2012 Governor's Community Achievement Award

The Governor's Community Achievement Awards are presented each year to an array of Texas communities with the best grassroots environmental programs in the state.  Communities are judged based on their population size, which is derived from population estimates from the 2010 Census.  The efforts of these communities to involve citizens, businesses, schools, local government and youth to keep their city, county or region beautiful will earn 10 of them a share of $2 million in landscaping monies from Texas Department of Transportation.  These prizes are designated for landscaping projects along local state rights-of-way.

Keep Muenster Beautiful competes in the Category 1 classification of Keep Texas Beautiful which consists of all Texas communities with a population of 3,000 or less. 

This marks the sixth time (1986, 1999, 2002, 2005, 2008 & now 2012) KMB has won this prestigious award. The prize of $90,000 will fund further beautification projects in our community. KMB has also won the Sustained Excellence Award nine times (2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2009, 2010, and 2011).  These awards also have brought honorable State recognition to Muenster. 

CONGRATULATIONS to all who volunteered and played an important role in our success! Without your time and hard work this achievement would not have been possible.

Spring Clean Up

On Saturday, April 14th we will be meeting at the KMB Haus at 9am for pictures, supplies, and assignments. Afterwards we will head out to beautify the city. Don't forget to wear your "work clothes" and remember... a nice pair of gloves will come in handy today.

In addition, Muenster State Bank has been kind enough to furnish lunch for all participants. Hats off to those fine folks as well...
